Smriti Mandhana is the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru and after winning the last edition of WPL, they have started the 2025 season with two consecutive wins. The RCB girls are now back at their home turf and in the first game of the season at the Chinnaswamy, they are up against Mumbai Indians.
The atmosphere at the toss was electric with RCB fans cheering their heart out for the captain, Smriti Mandhana. The RCB skipper then tossed the coin and as soon as the ball went in the air, a random ball hit her on the leg. Mandhana naturally was surprised and bit scared as Harmanpreet Kaur standing besides her tried to save her opponent captain.

The toss eventually went in the favour of Mumbai Indians (MI) and Harmanpreet Kaur decided to bowl first on a good batting deck that is known to be conducive for the chasing side. The ball that hit Smriti actually was the one with which the players were practicing around the captains and it turned out to be one of those rare funny moments on the field.
Mumbai Indians (MI) won the first edition of WPL and after a loss in the first game, they made a strong comeback in the second encounter. So, both the teams are in form and it promises to be another classic encounter between two high-profile franchises in the third season of Women's Premier League 2025.
