[Watch] Du Plessis Takes 'Stunning' Catch As Head Departs For Mind-Boggling 102

Travis Head has perhaps played the innings of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener took the league by storm with a 17-ball fifty against MI, a couple of days ago, and has now scored a stunning hundred to take RCB by storm.

Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to field first, and that was perhaps his biggest mistake as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma teared apart the RCB bowlers at the Chinnaswamy stadium. Both the batters took a special liking to the conditions and it rained sixes as RCB looked clueless.

Ferguson ends Head's stay at the crease

Head, who has been in superb form throughout the tournament, raced away to a 20-ball fifty and continued the onslaught to reach a 39-ball century, the fastest by an SRH batter. However, just after breaching the three-figures, Head was eventually dismissed by the duo of Lockie Ferguson and du Plessis.

Ferguson bowled a brilliantly disguised knuckle ball and Head fell for the trap. He miscued the heave and got a top-edge, which was brilliantly taken by captain Faf at mid-off, as the SRH opener was sent back for 102.

Talking about the contest, the carnage continued post Head's dismissal as Heinrich Klaasen also breached the 50-run mark in 23 deliveries.

At the moment, SRH are 250/3 inside 19 overs.
