After receiving tonking from the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) openers, Reece Topley provided Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) their maiden breakthrough by snapping Reece Topley's wicket using a trap on the leg-stump.

The RCB and English seamer, in his second over, bowled a back of a length delivery on the leg-stump, on which the hard-hitting Abhishek Sharma went for a whip off his pads but mistimed it to Lockie Ferguson stationed at deep square leg.

Topley broke SRH's 108-run opening stand between Travis Head and Abhishek, but it only brought Heinrich Klaasen to the middle. The in-form Head, who slammed his maiden IPL century, fell prey to Lockie Ferguson at 102 off 41 balls. 

However, the Proteas is still going strong against RCB on Monday. The destructive Klaasen has completed his half-century off just 23 balls, and batting at 60*. 

At the time of publishing, SRH is at 217/2 after 16 overs, and on the way to the break the record of highest team score in the IPL 2024.
