Another upset in the World Cup 2023 is on the cards at Dharamsala, where South Africa is toiling hard against the Netherlands in their pursuit of 246 in a rain-curtailed 43-over game as they lost their fourth wicket on the score of 44. The cold night in the hill-situated stadium is turning out to be challenging for the Proteas, who have struggled against the pace and spin of the Dutch.

After they lost their fourth wicket, the big-hitter David Miller walked onto the pitch, joining Heinrich Klassen. However, the latter lost his wicket in the 19th over on the score of 89, sinking them into a bigger hole.

Nevertheless, a massive moment came on the fourth ball of the 24th over when the left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe was bowling to Miller, who tried to play a big lofted shot down the ground using his feet, but the connection was never really that good to clear the fence as the ball landed inside the boundary area into the hands of fielder stationed at long-on Bas de Leede, who made a mess of it and dropped the catch under night sky which then relayed to the fence for four.

Watch the video here:

The dropped catch saw bowler van der Merwe getting on his knees in disbelief as frustration was apparent on his face. Miller got the life he wanted and went on to score 43, after which he eventually got out to Logan van Beek, losing his off-stump.

The condition worsened for South Africa as they further lost out their ninth wicket for 166, with victory being 80 runs away and just 47 balls remaining in the game by the time of publishing.
