South Africa have surely seen the ghost of their past as the team has crumbled against a spirited Netherlands team in the ongoing World Cup 2023.

The Proteas allowed the Dutch side to get out from the jail, as the Orange Army managed to post 245/8 on the board, from a precarious situation of 140/7.

The South African team boasts a strong batting lineup and this should have been an easy chase for them, however, the Netherlands had some other plan. They kept on taking wickets at regular intervals as the South African side were pushed on the back-foot.

The best of the lot was the wicket of dangerous Aiden Markram by Paul van Meekeren. He bowled a perfect length delivery, just a shade outside the off. The ball nipped back in sharply and beats the outside-edge to knock over the stumps.

The delivery took Markram by surprise, as the Proteas batter had no answer to the brilliance of van Meekeren.

Talking about the contest, South Africa have already lost 4 wickets in the chase. They started with a couple of boundaries, but once Quinton de Kock departed, the team fell like a pack of cards.
