Fazalhaq Farooqi is having a dream start to the T20 World Cup 2024. The left-arm seamer, who is a vital cog in the Afghanistan side bagged his maiden T20I fifer against Uganda, as the African side surrendered against some brilliant bowling.

He started the carnage in the first over of the Uganda innings by picking up a couple of wickets, which pushed the opposition on the back-foot. Farooqi didn't stop there and scalped another wicket which 'almost' ensured Afghanistan's victory.

The icing on the cake took place when the Afghan seamer picked up his 4th and 5th wicket in quick successions, and etched his name in the record books, as he registered his best figures in T20I history.

Farooqi grabs 5-wicket haul

The highlight of his 5-wicket haul was the scalp of Riazat Ali. Farooqi rolled his fingers and bowled a brilliantly disguised slower ball as the stumps were shattered.

Talking about the contest, Uganda were never really in the hunt, chasing down 184. They lost wickets right from the first over, and apart from two batters, no other player crossed the 10-run mark, which showed the poor application with the bat from the Uganda team.
