The Sydney Thunder are playing against the Hobart Hurricanes in the seventh match of the WBBL 10. At the North Sydney Oval in Australia, the Hurricanes won the toss and put the Thunders to bat. 

Athapaththu Was Looking To Make Up For The Golden Duck In Her Last Outing

Notably, rain delayed the toss of the game, and the game was curtailed down to a 17-overs-per-side affair. The Thunder got a steady start from their openers, Georgia Voll and Chamari Athapaththu. Even after the loss of two quick wickets, Athapaththu continued batting with a steady approach. The Sri Lankan skipper was looking to play an impactful knock, making up for the golden duck she bagged in the last game. 

Chamari Athapaththu played some beautiful strokes during her stay in the middle and looked all set for a big knock. However, Molly Strano came up with an unbelievable effort to see the back of the experienced Sri Lankan batter.

Molly Strano Put In A Brilliant Effort To Dismiss Chamari Athapaththu

On the last delivery of the 11th over, Strano bowled a fullish delivery at the middle and off stump line. Chamari leaned onto the ball and smashed it hard, looking to go down the ground and past the bowler. However, just as the ball was passing the bowler, Strano dived to her right and grabbed a stunning one-handed catch. The effort by Starno left Athapaththu shocked. However, she went back to the hut. 

After the dismissal of Athapaththu, Heather Knight took on the responsibility of taking the team to a respectable total on her shoulders. The English veteran scored 48 runs and took the team's total to a respectable 146/5 in their 17 overs.
