Alex Davies and James Vince of the Southern Brave have been in a decent form in this tournament. They would have hoped for a solid start from them. However, things did not turn out as expected by the Brave.

The English opener Alex Davies was dismissed of the second ball of the match by Adam Milne. The Kiwi international bowled a back of a length delivery at the off stump line to Davies. The batter rocked back in his crease and punched the ball in the air to the right of the backward point fielder. 

Benny Howell who was stationed inside the ring behind the square on the off side dived and took an outstanding catch. The effort by Howell brought flashes of the legendary South African fielder, Jonty Rhodes. Notably, Jonty was known for his brilliant efforts at the backward point region. His efforts became so renowned that the particular area of the field came to known as the 'Jonty's Corner'. 

At the time writing, innings of the Southern Brave has come to an innings. They have posted 126/6 in their allotted 100 balls. The Birmingham Phoenix now need to 127 runs to win the game and find their way into the final of the tournament.
