India's wicket-keeper batter and T20 World Cup hero Rishabh Pant received a rousing reception during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 inaugural match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on August 17. 

Pant, who played a key role in India's ICC T20 World Cup triumph earlier this year, was felicitated by Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley and BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla for his contributions.

Pant's impactful performance in the World Cup, where he scored 171 runs in 8 innings at an average of 24.42, helped India remain unbeaten in the final and claim their first ICC trophy in 11 years.

His valuable innings throughout the tournament solidified his place as a crucial member of the Indian cricket team.

Leading the Purani Dilli 6 squad in the DPL, Pant made his mark once again in the inaugural fixture against Ayush Badoni's South Delhi Superstarz. 

After South Delhi won the toss and elected to bowl, Purani Dilli 6 posted a competitive 197 on the board. Pant contributed with a solid 35 runs, while Vansh Bedi's unbeaten 47 guided the team to a strong total.

Pant’s return to form has been eagerly anticipated, and he is set to feature in the Duleep Trophy 2024 from September 5 to 24.
