The Delhi Premier League 2024 kicked off in thrilling fashion at Arun Jaitley Stadium on August 17 with a fierce encounter between South Delhi Superstarz and Purani Purani Delhi-6. 

The Purani Purani Delhi-6 side, anchored by Rishabh Pant's steady 35, saw a resurgence after Vansh Bedi's explosive knock at the back end of the innings.

Bedi entered the crease after Pant was dismissed by Kunwar Bidhuri and quickly made his presence felt. 

The right-handed batter went on to score an unbeaten 47 off just 19 balls, leaving a significant mark on the match with his aggressive batting display. His innings featured four towering sixes and four powerful boundaries.

The highlight of Bedi’s innings came in the 16th over when Vision Panchal was brought into the attack. Bedi took on the bowler with fierce intent, sending the very first ball soaring over deep midwicket for a six. 

He followed it up with another maximum, this time lofting a fuller delivery over long-on, much to the delight of the crowd.

Despite Bedi's brilliance, South Delhi Superstarz restricted Purani Purani Delhi-6 to 197 runs. With a strong target set, it was now up to Ayush Badoni’s South Delhi Superstarz to chase down the mammoth total.
