In the 8th match of the Women's Asia Cup 2024 between Thailand Women and Bangladesh Women, held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on July 22, a comedy of errors marked the Bangladesh innings. 

The incident occurred in the 5th over when Sunida Chaturongrattana was bowling. During this over, Dilara Akter and Murshida Khatun were at the crease when a dreadful mix-up took place. 

The confusion began when Sunida tossed up the ball on the stumps, and Murshida stepped out to push it straight in front of mid-off. She set off for a quick run, but Dilara was not interested. After a brief, frantic exchange with her partner, Murshida turned back and hustled to return to her crease.

Meanwhile, the mid-off fielder had retrieved the ball and thrown it at the bowler's end, hitting the stumps. Despite initially targeting the wrong end, the decision for a run-out was sent upstairs. 

Replays confirmed that Dilara was outside her crease when the ball hit the stumps. The big screen displayed "OUT," signaling Dilara's departure amidst the bewildering sequence of events. The Thai Women were ecstatic to secure this wicket in such an unconventional manner.

Despite this comical incident, Bangladesh Women managed to maintain their composure and eventually won the match by 7 wickets against the Thai Women.
