Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi are unarguably the two biggest stars in Pakistan cricket. They have played plenty of games together over the years and have won many games for their side. Babar Azam is currently the captain of Pakistan while Shaheen Afridi with his aura and world-class skills looks like a man next in the line to take the leadership role.

Recently, after Pakistan's early exit in Asia Cup 2023, there were reports of rift between the two regarding team selection and overall tactics of the game and it has been amplified by Pakistan's poor performance in the ongoing World Cup 2023. However, both of them have denied such reports and have termed it as baseless. 

Now, in a crucial World Cup 2023 game against Pakistan, we saw a lovely moment between the two which should reaffirmed the close friendship between the two stars and help in bashing any of those media reports, terming them as enemies. 

Shaheen Afridi got the big wicket of Quinton de Kock to draw first blood for Pakistan in the 4th over and after a big roar from Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam came running in towards Shaheen, giving him a tight hug in delight.

Some have accused Shaheen Afridi of purposely not playing well under the leadership of Babar Azam to take over the captaincy, but his performance in the World Cup 2023 has been quite decent and all looks fine between the two stalwarts.
