Mohammad Wasim Jr. is one of the most talented young bowlers in Pakistan cricket and has all the arsenal that a fast bowler needs to succeed at the international level. The game against South Africa at Chepauk is his first World Cup 2023 game and the man has impressed with his pace and accuracy against a strong South African unit.
In his first over of the World Cup itself, he got the big fish in the form of South African captain Temba Bavuma who was looking good during his 27-ball stay. Bavuma scored 27 runs with four fours and one maximum in it and after the dismissal of Quinton de Kock early, he was the one taking South African chase forward.

It was the 10th over of South Africa's innings and the Proteas were going great guns with run-rate well above 10. Wasim is known for his pace and zip off the surface and he produced exactly that as he bowled a shortish delivery on off that came quick off the surface. Bavuma was in no mood to defend it and went for a big pull shot. However, he mistimed it badly and ended up hitting it aerially without any great force to the square leg region where Saud Shakeel came forward and took it safely.
The wicket was a nuch-needed breakthrough for Pakistan and brought the match right in the balance as South African aim to chase down 271 at Chepauk.
