India’s World Cup 2023 campaign has been nothing short of resplendent, exemplifying a masterful fusion of skill and strategy. With batsmen scoring runs and bowlers taking wickets, Rohit Sharma and co. have emerged as an unstoppable juggernaut on their path to an unbeaten run.
As Team India braces itself to face defending champions England next up, it seems like their in-form batters want to take up an additional responsibility as a bowler, considering a number of batting stars were seen rolling their arms during a nets training session in Lucknow.
Apart from usual exponents Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja, the likes of Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav also engaged in rigorous bowling drills, thus demonstrating a possibility of filling in the overs in place of injury-struck Hardik Pandya for the match against England.

A couple of days prior to India’s blockbuster World Cup 2023 faceoff with England, a number of ‘Men in Blue’ batting stars joined their teammates during a rigorous bowling drill in Lucknow. In-form Virat Kohli, star opener Shubman Gill and middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav were among the members who bowled alongside team’s frontline bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin in an evening session.

Virat Kohli even bowled a few deliveries for Team India after Hardik Pandya slumped to an ankle injury against Bangladesh.
The latest move of specialist batters rolling their arms in the nets might well indicate that the team management is looking out for options to fill in for Pandya’s overs in India’s upcoming fixture.
Currently placed at the top of the World Cup 2023 points table, Rohit Sharma’s troops are slated to face England at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. They will subsequently travel to Mumbai to face continental rivals Sri Lanka on November 2.
