Talismanic Pakistani batter Babar Azam continues to shine with the bat for his team Rangpur Riders in the ongoing 10th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2024). In the most recent game against Durdanto Dhaka, he once again played an important role in his team’s victory in the 21st match of the tournament.

As always, Babar illuminated the ground with his well-timed strokes. Although he fell short of a fifty, during his innings, he showcased some of his trademark shots, delighting the spectators at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on his way to a brilliant 47 off 43 balls, including five boundaries.

In the video posted by FanCode, Babar can be seen confidently executing shots to all parts of the field. Initially, he struggled to get going but later pulled Taskin Ahmed in front of square, providing momentum to the innings. Subsequently, he smashed three consecutive fours off Shoriful Islam's bowling. His final boundary came off Dhaka captain Mosaddek Hossain. However, Mosaddek had the last laugh, dismissing Babar with a delivery that seemed inviting but resulted in a catch to the deep square leg fielder, ending his innings.

Earlier in the tournament, Babar played a match-winning knock of 62 runs from 46 deliveries against Durdanto Dhaka.

Batting first, the Riders posted a formidable total of 175/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Contributions from Babar (47), Rony Talukdar (39), Shakib Al Hasan (34), and Mohammad Nabi (29*) propelled the Riders past the 170-mark.

In pursuit of 176, Durdanto Dhaka struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 115 in 18 overs, with Shakib making significant contributions with the ball, taking three crucial wickets.

With this victory, the Rangpur Riders lead the table with 10 points from 7 matches, having won 5 and lost 2. They boast a net run rate of +1.462.

Having amassed 251 runs in six innings, Babar currently stands as the top run-scorer for his team, indicating that he is truly back in form.
