Defending 245 to secure a place in the Under-19 World Cup 2024 final, South Africa’s premier strike bowler Kwena Maphaka once again delivered with the ball by removing India's in-form opening batsman Adarsh Singh with cracking pace and bounce.

The young Proteas speedster had Singh hop up on his crease for forward defence. However, the Indian opener merely managed to glove the ball towards wicketkeeper Lhuan-dre Pretorius.

Earlier in the match, South Africa Under-19 listed 244-7 from their 50 overs after they were put into bat first by 'Boys in Blue' captain Uday Saharan. Opening batsman Lhuan-dre Pretorius and number four Richard Seletswane both conjured cautious half-centuries, while captain Juan James and Tristan Luus bludgeoned rapid 20s in the death overs to take their side to a competitive total.

India's new-ball pacer Raj Limbani picked up three South African wickets in the innings and received much assistance via spinner Musheer Khan’s economical 10-over spell. Naman Tiwari and Saumy Pandey also chipped in with a wicket each from their ends.

The winner of the match will either face Australia u19 or Pakistan u19 in the final set to be played on February 11 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
