Pakistan's promising speedster, Khurram Shahzad, showcased his incredible bowling attributes as he registered a sensational five-wicket haul in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The well-built fast bowler, who got the prized scalps of Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan, made the well-set Mehidy Hasan Miraz his fifth victim of the day.

The incident occurred during the 52nd over of Bangladesh's first innings when Mehidy was batting well alongside Litton Das following the early jitters

The duo had already formed a magnificent 165-run stand for the seventh wicket, and therefore, the hosts desperately needed a breakthrough.

It was once again Khurram Shahzad who stepped up for Pakistan, preventing Mehidy from a well-deserved Test century.

The right-arm pacer initially put pressure on Mehidy, bowling four consecutive dot balls. His immaculate line and length induced a false shot off the all-rounder's bat, as he lost his wicket in a casual manner.

Shahzad bowled a slightly pitched-up delivery around the off stump from over the wicket. Mehidy pressed forward to drive the ball but ended up chipping it in the air straight to the bowler.

Shahzad took a sharp catch on his follow through, leaving Mehidy Hasan stunned at the striker's end. As soon as he completed the catch, talismanic batter Babar Azam hugged him joyfully. The incident signified the importance of Mehidy's wicket.

Bangladesh lose two wickets in quick succession

Soon after Mehidy departed for a fabulous 124-ball 78, Shahzad trapped Taskin Ahmed plumb in front of the stumps with a nip-backer. Thus, Bangladesh lost two quick wickets, again letting Pakistan claim the driving seat. As of writing, the visitors were 193 for eight, with Litton Das batting on 83*.
