The 5th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 will take place between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and St Lucia Kings at the Warner Park Stadium.

The St Kitts side were blown away by Trinbago Knight Riders in their last game. The Knight Riders scored a mammoth 250 runs on the board, and the target was a bit too much to overhaul as the St Kitts team were restricted to 206/8.

The team will look to keep their recent performance behind when they take on St Lucia Kings, who will play their opening game of the CPL 2024 season.

The St Lucia Kings are a formidable unit and will be looking to open their account against their opposition, led by a tactically brilliant leader in Faf du Plessis. It will be a mouth-watering contest, but the pitch will also play a major role in the outcome of the contest.

Warner Park St Kitts Pitch Report: Surface to favour batters

Interestingly, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots played their last game at the same venue against TKR, and the match was a high-scoring affair.

Normally, the Warner Park Stadium plays on the slower side, as seen in the domestic competitions, but it sprung a surprise when a high-scoring contest was witnessed between St Kitts and TKR.

More than 450 runs were scored in the match, with TKR registering 250 runs on the board. If the same pattern continues, then we might again see a 200-plus total in the upcoming game.

On a surface like this, which favours the batters, the bowlers need to use their skills and try out different variations. Since it is just the second game on this surface, the pitch will stay true to its nature, but as the tournament progresses, we might see it slow down a bit. Toss winning captain should bowl first on this track.
