As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season approaches, teams are gearing up for the challenge, and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are no exception.

Under the new mentorship of Gautam Gambhir, a legendary figure who led KKR to glory in 2012 and 2014, the team is buzzing with energy and determination.

On his first day with the squad, Gambhir delivered a powerful message, setting the tone for the season.

Gambhir emphasised the importance of unity and hard work, stating

 "You guys are representing a very successful franchise. Make sure you train that way, you play that way and you carry that attitude around the field. That is going to be very, very important."

He further stressed the significance of granting players the freedom to express themselves, a philosophy he firmly believes in for achieving success.

In his address, Gambhir also assured the players of a level playing field, underscoring his belief in equality regardless of seniority or nationality. 

"So people who played with me will know one thing about me, that everyone in this group will be treated equally. There's no senior junior. There is no domestic, or international. So we have got one mission and that is to win this IPL," he added.

The World Cup-winning former India cricketer highlighted the importance of starting strong and maintaining that momentum throughout the tournament.

"It starts from today and this is what we want to do. So if we walk the same path and we fight, I'm sure we're gonna achieve a lot of success," Gambhir encouraged the team.

As the Knight Riders prepare to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening match on March 23 at Eden Gardens, the squad, under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir and captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, is set to embark on their journey for the IPL 2024 title with renewed vigour and a clear focus on victory.
