India, batting first against South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final, got off to the worst possible start as they lost three early wickets as Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rishabh Pant disappointed with the bat.

From 23/0 after 1.3 overs, India were reduced to 34/3 after 4.3 overs. However, Virat Kohli and Shivam Dube took the onus on their shoulders to take the Men in Blue out of the crunch. The duo succeeded in their effort as they stitched a 72-run stand for the 4th wicket. 

Axar Patel was on song in the final as he scored 47 (31), which featured one four and four sixes. Talking about Patel, who perfectly used the flow of wind to his advantage and smashed the spinners for three sixes. 

The southpaw stole the limelight when he hit in-form Kagiso Rabada for a six that awakened the crowd in Barbados. 

On the first ball of the 14th over, Rabada pitched the ball up, but Patel held his pose and struck the ball straight down the ground for a big six. Following the six, the fans jumped out of their seat and were all pumped and impressed by Patel's batting. 

Also, the dressing room were impressed by the shot and even Yuzvendra Chahal, who was in the dressing room, gave a standing ovation.

Following the six, Patel missed out on his fifty by three runs after he got run-out in a lazy manner.
