Axar Patel was one of the heroes for India in the semifinal of T20 World Cup 2024 against England, and he is showing his worth in the final as well against South Africa. He came out to bat at number 5 after India lost early wickets, and did not let pressure get into his head as he mixed caution with aggression nicely.
He first hit Aiden Markram for a six and then unleashed another big shot against Keshav Maharaj to make his intentions clear. The six against Maharaj came on the fourth delivery of the 9th over when Maharaj bowled it full and on off. Axar got low and played a brilliant slog-sweep that went sailing over deep mid-wicket.

Virat Kohli, his batting partner too was happy to see Axar hitting it out of the park and gave a nice thumbs up to the southpaw.
India Rocked In Powerplay
Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bat first on a good batting deck. Virat started with three fours in the first over, but India lost both Rohit Sharma and Pant in the second over and then Rabada got the better of Suryakumar Yadav to put India in all sorts of trouble at 34-3.
However, Axar Patel and Virat Kohli have steadied the ship now, and India would be looking to capitalise on it and get a big score.
