[Watch] Axar Patel Survives A Close Run Out After 'Lazy Effort' From Avesh Khan

Axar Patel's batting has come a long way in the last couple of years and in the 9th match of IPL 2024, he again was again left to do heavy lifting with the bat as DC found themselves in a difficult position in their run-chase of 186. He could have departed in the 18th over but a poor throw and a bit of lazy effort from Avesh Khan ensured that Axar survived and that gave a glimmer of hope to DC.

It was the third delivery of the 18th over and Avesh Khan bowled it short of good length, outside off. Axar Patel tried to cut it, but did not time it perfectly and the ball went to the cover fielder. Burger there fumbled a bit and then threw it to the bowler's end where Avesh Khan.

The decision went to the third umpire and the replays showed that Axar Patel is well in, but it eventually did not help DC's cause as they lost the game by 12 runs.

Earlier, RR scored 185 on the back of a fantastic 84 off 45 balls by Riyan Parag and with two wins in two matches, they are looking like a team to beat this season.
