Ravi Ashwin is a legend of the game and he is known all over the world for his crafty off-break. However, he is a handy batter too which was again on display in the 9th match of IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. Ashwin walked out to bat at number 5 after RR lost three early wickets and brought impetus to the innings with his brief cameo of 29 off 19 balls.

He slammed three sixes in his knock and one of those hit was against Kuldeep Yadav who got the big wicket of Jos Buttler. It was the fifth delivery of the 10th over and Kuldeep Yadav tossed up a delivery on the middle stump line. Ashwin danced down the track without any fear and launched it way over wide long on for a maximum.

Ashwin then slammed two sixes in a single over against the dangerous Anrich Nortje and took RR to a position where they can capitalise in the later half of the innings. Ashwin eventually departed in the 14th over but it surely proved to be a master stroke from RR management to send in Ashwin in front of the likes of Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel.
