In cricket, traditionally, fast bowlers were considered as the weakest link in the fielding department. However, the game has changed a lot in the last decade or so and in these modern times, everyone is expected to to be agile and live up to the modern fielding standards regardless of their role in the team.

One of the most successful cricketing nation in the history of cricket has been Australia and they have often set some remarkable examples with their extraordinary skillset for the rest of the world. We saw a classic example of it in the third ODI between South Africa and Australia when the Aussie pacer Sean Abbott pulled off arguably the greatest catch in the history of the game.

It was Marco Jansen's catch who was going great guns and was batting on 32 off 15 balls. It seemed that he has hit one over the fence off his 16th delivery too, but Sean Abbott had other plans and pulled off a diving effort near the fence that has been rarely seen in the history of the game.

How did Sean Abbott took his CATCH OF THE CENTURY?

Talking about the ball, it was a full delivery, outside off. Jansen moved across to his right and sliced it towards deep cover. He timed it beautifully and hit in the gap as well. However, Sean Abbott in the deep sprinted to his left, covered a whole lot of ground and dived full-length horizontally to his left. The ball that was going flat and over the ropes was plucked out of nowhere with left hand by Sean Abbott, creating an atmosphere of absolute disbelief at the Senwes Park.

Sean Abbott's catch would surely go down in the history books as one of the greatest and arguably can be termed as the - 'catch of the century.'  South Africa did manage to score 338 in their 50 overs but Sean Abbott's catch will be remembered by the generations to come.
