Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper seems to be back at his belligerent best in ODIs as he has smashed his third fifty in a row in the Asia Cup 2023. He scored 56 off 49 balls against Pakistan in the last game and has now followed it up with another cracking knock against the Lankans. He got to his fifty in 44 balls and played some superb shot both off the front foot and back foot dominating the bowling in his usual class and finesse. It is his 51st fifty in ODIs and with World Cup around, Rohit Sharma is looking in killer form.

He also broke the record of most sixes in Asia Cup and with two towering sixes in his fifty, breaking Shahid Afridi's record in the process. Rohit got to his fifty in the 13th over of the game and never looked in trouble right from the onset even though Gill failed to get going in the Powerplay.

Rohit got to his fifty in the trademark style as well, pulling Pathirana for fifty with great disdain. Talking about the ball in which he got to his fifty, it was a short delivery from Pathirana on middle. Rohit Sharma picked the length quickly and pulled it off the middle of his blade, almost hitting it all the way, as the ball bounced just before the ropes before crossing it.

However, Dunith Wellalage's three-wicket haul has put Sri Lanka back in the game as the left-arm spinner has got big wickets of Gill, Kohli and Rohit Sharma in quick succession to reduce India to 91-3 from 80-0.
