'A Luxury To Have Someone Like Him,' Waqar Younis Hails Hardik Pandya

The Indian team completely dominated Pakistan in their clash in the Super 4s of the Asia Cup 2023. With the help of India's top order, they managed to put up a mammoth total of 356. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a perfect start scoring half-centuries. Then came, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who smashed their tons and took India's score to over 350 with the loss of just two wickets. 

The team continued to dominate them in the bowling as well. Bumrah struck early and Hardik Pandya got the dangerous Babar Azam with his beautiful inswinger. The former Pakistan fast-bowler, Waqar Younis hails Hardik Pandya due to his impressive all-round abilities.


Here's what Waqar Younis said about Hardik Pandya:

"It’s a luxury to have someone like him in the middle overs as he can bowl in all sorts of situations. He is smart and if the pitches are slow and flat, then he manages those slower deliveries and other variations. But when the ball is swinging around, he did exactly the same what Bumrah and Siraj did." 

He further added, "It was a beautiful delivery that seamed back. He asked Babar to play a little away from the body and that’s what you need. You need a small gap to go through. It was a beautiful delivery that seamed back."

Hardik possesses a great ability to bowl with speed and accuracy. He can bowl with the new ball and the old ball as well. And undoubtedly, he is one of the best batters in the middle overs as he has the ability to rotate the strike and smash the bowlers as well. That's what Waqar believes, having him in any team is a luxury as he can do all three things on the field with perfection.
