Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) stormed into the playoffs of CPL 2024 with a convincing 7-wicket win over St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Chasing a competitive target of 191, Nicholas Pooran’s explosive unbeaten 93 off just 43 balls led Kieron Pollard’s team to victory with 19 balls to spare.

Andre Fletcher Anchored The Innings For Patriots

Earlier in the match, after being put into bat, the Patriots had a shaky start as opener Evin Lewis was dismissed in the first over. However, Kyle Mayers turned the momentum in their favour with a blistering knock of 60 off 30 balls.

In the end, Andre Fletcher anchored the innings, with 93 off 61 balls and pushed the Patriots to a challenging total of 190/5.

In response, TKR opener Jason Roy played a dynamic innings and made 64 off 34 balls with six boundaries and four maximums. Pooran then took control and launched a brutal assault on the Patriots' bowling. He reached an unbeaten 93 in just 43 balls to keep the chase well within TKR's reach.

In the 16th over, Tim David was dismissed as Anrich Nortje executed a stunning catch off his own bowling. David attempted a leg-side shot off a fuller-length delivery outside off.

However, he mistimed it, sending a leading edge high into the air. Nortje reacted swiftly, diving to his left to complete an outstanding catch off his bowling to dismiss David.

The Patriots momentarily tightened their grip on the match with the wicket, but it wasn't enough to halt the onslaught from Nicholas Pooran, whose explosive innings eventually guided TKR to a seven-wicket victory.

With this win, TKR has been placed in fourth place in the points table, further boosting its momentum heading into the playoffs.
