The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are playing against the Trinbago Knight Riders in the 25th match of the CPL 2024 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.

The Knight Riders are eyeing a win in this game to confirm their spot in the top two of the points table. After this, they have three games remaining, and winning in all these matches will solidify their claim.

Kieron Pollard, the skipper of the Knight Riders, won the toss ahead of the game and put the Patriots to bat. St. Kitts lost Evin Lewis early in the innings and was in trouble.

However, Kyle Mayers' aggressive play turned the game around for the Patriots. His powerful shots, which displayed impeccable timing and finesse, quickly pulled his team out of trouble. Mayers' 18-ball fifty was a testament to his form and dominance on the field.

Mayers played a destructive knock to lay the foundation for Patriots

He was particularly fierce on the veteran West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo in the sixth over. Off the last four deliveries in the over, Mayers smashed three boundaries and a six against Bravo. With the last boundary, the Southpaw brought up his half-century in only the 18th delivery of his innings.

However, Mayers failed to make it count and missed what looked like a certain century for him. Chris Jordan managed to dismiss him in the 11th over of the innings.

However, Mayers scored 60 runs off 30 deliveries at a strike rate of 200 before getting dismissed. His destructive knock was decorated with eight fours and three massive maximums.
