Shakib Al Hasan Creates History
Shakib Al Hasan achieved this milestone during Bangladesh’s first Test against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where he took the field on Day 3.
His impact on Bangladesh cricket has been nothing short of monumental. Having represented the national team for over a decade, the all-rounder has been a crucial player with both bat and ball.
His role as a top-order batsman and consistent wicket-taker has earned him a reputation as one of the best all-rounders in the world. His longevity and fitness have enabled him to reach this latest milestone, which adds to his illustrious career.
While Shakib’s achievement is significant in Bangladesh cricket history, the world record for the oldest player to feature in a Test match still belongs to England’s Wilfred Rhodes. He played his final Test at the remarkable age of 52 years and 165 days in 1930, a record that has remained unbroken for nearly a century.
