The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are up against the Trinbago Knight Riders in the third match of the CPL 2024 at Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, St. Kitts. Andre Fletcher, the Patriots' skipper, won the toss ahead of the game and put the Knights into bat.

Jason Roy failed to build on the start Narine gave

The Patriots made a decent start, bowling two economical overs. However, after the first couple of overs, Sunil Narine started getting into his groove and finding his rhythm with the bat. But just when he started entertaining the crowd, Ryan John got the better of him in the fourth over of the innings.

After Narine's departure, the onus was on Jason Roy to power the Knights to a big total. However, the English batter did not last long, as Roy followed him on the fourth delivery after Narine's demise. However, more than a mistake by Roy, it was an unplayable delivery by the bowler, Anrich Nortje, that ended his stay in the centre.

On the fourth delivery of the fifth over, Nortje bowled an accurate yorker at the stumps. Roy wanted to play the ball across the line but missed it completely. The ball crashed into the middle and leg stumps, and Roy had to return to the hut.

Nicholas Pooran powered the Knights to a massive total

Even though the Knights lost two wickets within the first powerplay, they had a great momentum going in their favour at the stage. Nicholas Pooran continued the momentum in the TKR innings with his destructive 97 off 43 deliveries. Keacy Carty joined the carnage unleashed by Pooran and scored 73 runs off 35 deliveries. The aggressive and thrilling batting of these two players ensured that the Knights posted a massive total of 250/4 at the end of their 20 overs.
