There is no better scene on the cricket field than Andre Russell bringing madness to the crowd. And it happened yet again on Saturday evening at Eden Gardens during KKR’s IPL 2024 clash against SRH.

Coming at as low as No. 8, Russell, the heartthrob of KKR, did not waste any time. He started the 16th over of KKR’s innings with a 91-metre six against Mayank Markande over cow corner. Then, three balls later, the West Indian slammed back-to-back sixes to make Markande look helpless from the other end.

KKR, having been put into bat, slipped to 32/3 inside the Powerplay in Match 3 of the competition. Philip Salt steadied the ship, whereas carnage from Russell and Rinku Singh tore the SRH attack apart.

At the time of writing, KKR have raced to 190/6 after 18.4 overs, with Russell batting on 52* off 21 balls. Rinku, on the other hand, is in the middle, on 23* off 14 balls.

Not to forget, there were too many criticisms regarding the retention of Russell, given the fact that the hard-hitting all-rounder was not in the greatest of forms in the competition. However, with a blistering knock, it is safe to say that he has silenced them all, at least for now.
