The USA cricket team clinched a historic series win against Bangladesh with a 2-0 lead in their three-match T20I series at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Texas. This victory was unexpected given Bangladesh's established reputation in international cricket.

In the second match, the USA set a target of 145 runs after scoring 144/6 in their 20 overs, with significant solid innings from Monank Patel, who scored 42 off 38 balls.

The Bangladeshi bowlers, including Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman, each took two wickets, putting up a commendable effort to restrict the USA's total.

Bangladesh's chase fell short as they were bowled out for 138 in 19.3 overs. Ali Khan led the USA bowling attack with impressive figures of 3/25.

He was well supported by Saurabh Netravalkar and Shadley van Schalkwyk, who took two wickets each. Despite Najmul Hossain Shanto's effort of 36 off 34 balls, Bangladesh could not reach the target.

A 3-0 series sweep would be a significant morale booster for the U.S. cricket team as they prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, which they will co-host with the West Indies from June 1, 2024.

For Bangladesh, a test-playing nation, the consecutive defeats against a tier-two team would prompt serious reflection on their performance and strategies.

The final match of this series is scheduled to be held in Houston on May 25, 2024. This game will be crucial for both teams, as the USA aims for a clean sweep and Bangladesh looks to salvage some pride ahead of the World Cup.
