Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) set an unfortunate record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after their loss to Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 22, 2024, in the Eliminator match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. 

This defeat marked RCB's 10th loss in IPL playoffs, the most by any team. RCB has participated in 16 playoff matches, making them the team with the highest number of playoff defeats. 

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hold the second spot with nine defeats in 26 playoff matches. Following them, Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) rank third, fourth, and fifth respectively in terms of playoff losses.

RCB's Unfortunate Record In The IPL

For RCB, the quest for IPL glory continues, fueled by 10 playoff defeats in 16 matches. CSK has faced 9 defeats in 26 playoff matches they have played. 

DC have grappled with playoff heartbreak, suffering nine defeats in 11 matches. Despite promising starts, they have faltered at crucial junctures, failing to capitalize on their potential. 

Mumbai Indians faced their share of playoff defeats, losing seven times in 20 matches. 

SRH known for their tenacity, endured playoff setbacks, losing seven times in 12 matches. Despite punching above their weight, they struggled to replicate regular-season success.
