Papua New Guinea's Alei Nao couldn't have started better, drawing first blood in the high-stakes match against West Indies during the second game of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Providence Stadium, Guyana, on June 2.

In a moment of sheer brilliance, Alei Nao removed Johnson Charles for a golden duck in his very first over. The incident occurred in the second over when Nao delivered a length ball on the stumps, which moved in slightly after pitching.

Charles, planting his front foot, attempted to defend but was beaten on the inside edge. The ball struck him high on the front pad, and after a long deliberation, the umpire raised his finger.

The UltraEdge confirmed no bat involvement, and ball tracking upheld the original OUT decision with an umpire’s call on wickets.

West Indies, chasing a target of 137 runs set by the visitors, are currently at 8 runs for 1 wicket in 2 overs, with Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran at the crease, 8* and 0* respectively.
