Remarkably, the Indian Air Force team had been training over the venue for the airshow for two days prior to the final. The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video of their rehearsal on their social media accounts.

On the cricketing front, Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss on the big day and decided to bowl first.

Team India captain and dashing opening batsman Rohit Sharma provided his side with yet another blitzkrieg start at the top with his 31-ball 47. However, his dismissal coupled with Shreyas Iyer’s subsequent departure reduced the famed Indian top-order at 81-3 in 10.2 overs.

The twin Australian strikes from Glenn Maxwell and pace veteran Pat Cummins forced in-form Virat Kohli and KL Rahul to anchor the rest of the Indian innings. Employing a cautious approach with the bat after Sharma’s power play bombardment, Kohli and Rahul safely guided India past the 100-run mark without further casualty.
