Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell – the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) buddies – had a wholesome moment on Sunday during India’s high-octane World Cup 2023 final against Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

In an attempt to win the World Cup after 12 long years, the Men in Blue did not have an ideal start, having lost Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer as early as in the first 11 overs. Kohli and KL Rahul then rebuilt the innings, having forged an excellent partnership for the fourth wicket before the former fell to Pat Cummins after a well-made 63-ball 54.

Before the dismissal, Kohli had a light moment with Maxwell just before the end of the 20th over of the innings.

Kohli pushed Mitchell Marsh's final delivery to short mid-wicket, where Maxwell was placed by Australia's captain Pat Cummins. The Australian all-rounder, after picking up the ball, threw straight at Kohli, who caught the ball with batting gloves to save him.

To bring some energy, Maxwell pointed at Kohli, suggesting, 'my eyes were on you.' Kohli too enjoyed, and gave Maxwell a push with a big smile on his face. Maxwell enjoyed as well, as the duo, after a while, got back to their positions to resume the action.
