Pakistan's premier finisher Iftikhar Ahmed had an forgetteble time in Mississauga Panthers' group-stage clash against Montreal Tigers in the ongoing Global T20 tournament in Canada. 

Although he struck 28 runs off 24 deliveries, the explosive right-handed batter got out in an embarrassing manner, with his no-look shot landing safely in the fielder's hands.

The incident occurred during the 18th over of the Panthers' innings when the Tigers had already pushed them to the verge of defeat. 

Montreal Tigers' captain Chris Lynn's decision to bring Zahoor Khan into the attack worked wonders as the right-arm pacer outfoxed Iftikhar in a crucial juncture. 

From over the wicket, Zahoor bowled a full-length delivery around the middle stump line, which Iftikhar flicked disdainfully towards the square leg. 

It was a no-look shot from Iftikhar and he was confident of getting six runs through it. However, unfortunately for the batter, his aerial shot couldn't breach the fence, with Dilpreet Bajwa taking a simple catch to dismiss him. 

After Iftikhar's departure, the Panthers could add only 16 more runs to their score, finishing on 156/8 in 20 overs. 

Thus, they kickstarted their Global T20 2024 campaign with a defeat, while the Tigers opened their account in the points table with a convincing 33-run victory.
