In a delightful turn of events, on Wednesday, Smriti Mandhana slammed a brilliant century in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing multi-format South Africa Women's Tour Of India at M Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru. 

She scripted history by equalling the record of former India skipper Mithali Raj for the most ODI hundreds for India. Meanwhile, Mandhana also became the first Indian female cricketer to register two consecutive centuries in ODIs. She also became India's first batter to register two centuries in a bilateral ODI series.

Her resilience and grit are worthy of every bit of praise. She flicked it for a single to reach her milestone in 103 balls, smashing 12 boundaries and two considerable maximums along the way.

Unlike the last game, when wickets kept on falling, this time, the Indian side looked much calmer and more composed. Both Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana held their nerves for a long time before they began their onslaught on Laura Wolvaardt's women.
