Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan were released from India's T20 World Cup 2024 travelling reserves. The duo had joined the Men in Blue in the USA earlier this month but was released from the squad after the group stage matches, leading to speculations about potential disciplinary issues.

However, later in an interview, Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour clarified that their departure was pre-planned and not due to any disciplinary reasons.

He explained that the decision was made before the team's journey to the US, with the plan for only two reserves to accompany the India squad to the Caribbean.

Moreover, another news has gone viral and raised eyebrows, claiming that the Indian opener was released from the squad because of a finger injury.

According to the Times of India, Gill sustained the injury during IPL 2024 and carried it into the World Cup.

The report also states that Gill will consult the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation.

In addition, rumours circulated on social media about a disagreement between Gill and the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma.

However, Gill addressed these rumours by posting a photo of Rohit Sharma and his daughter accompanied by a humorous comment, effectively ending the speculation.
