On Day 1 of the second Test match, Virat Kohli was spotted catching up with his former teammate Dinesh Karthik at the Green Park Cricket Stadium in Kanpur. This meeting took place on Friday morning, just before the highly anticipated final Test match between India and Bangladesh.

As Kohli and Karthik shared a few laughs and insights, photos of their interaction quickly made their way around social media, delighting supporters who cherish the camaraderie among players.

Unfortunately for fans eagerly awaiting the match, the toss was delayed due to a wet outfield at Green Park. Overnight rain in Kanpur left portions of the pitch damp, prompting ground staff to work diligently throughout the morning to prepare the field for play. Although the conditions were less than ideal, the efforts of the ground crew reflected their commitment to ensuring the game could proceed as scheduled.

Later, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh, maintaining an unchanged playing XI. In contrast, Bangladesh made two changes to their lineup.

Dinesh Karthik -  The New Batting Coach For RCB

Back in June, Dinesh Karthik transitioned from player to coach after announcing his retirement from all forms of representative cricket following IPL 2024. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made headlines by appointing Karthik as the batting coach and mentor for their men's team.

Karthik concluded his IPL career on a high note, scoring 326 runs in 13 innings during the 2024 season, boasting an impressive strike rate of 187.35. Overall, he played 60 matches for RCB, amassing 937 runs at an average of 24.65 and a strike rate of 162.95. His run tally positions him as the second-highest Indian run-scorer for RCB in IPL history, trailing only Virat Kohli. Additionally, Karthik's remarkable contributions to the team include 36 catches and nine stumpings.
