Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) sensation Rinku Singh recently spoke about his fitness regime in the new episode of 'Train Like a Knight.' Rinku described how gym training and eating nutritious food are most important for him to stay strong and energetic during matches.

Rinku rose to fame for hitting 5 sixes in an over against Yash Dayal in IPL 2023 and helped KKR win a challenging game out of nowhere. Since then, he has been touted as one of the country's finest finishers.

He is a regular face in India’s T20I team and also a part of KKR’s core group, as he was retained for INR 13 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Rinku Singh Focused On Fitness To Stay In Shape

In a recent episode of ‘Train Like a Knight,’ the 27-year-old cricketer shared that he pays special attention to his food and fitness routines.

He further revealed that he didn’t know much about gym workouts during his early cricket days. It was only after he started playing Under-19 and senior-level cricket that he learned the importance of fitness. Now, going to the gym is something he really enjoys.

“Nothing, mostly I pay attention to my food and this time, like now, cricket is (mostly) T20, so staying fit is very necessary. Cricket has become so fast that you have to take care of everything. Gym, running, and also food. Right now, I’ve started dieting. It’s been 15-20 days. Because after a certain age, you have to do it, although I’m still only 27 (laughs)," Rinku said.

He begins his day with hot water and then with a healthy breakfast such as eggs, poha, and dosa. Previously, he was inclined more towards consuming chicken, but since he has been working with professional nutritionists, he has come to realise the importance of vegetables and an even diet.

“Now I am fond of fitness, I like keeping fit, going to the gym and following my daily routine. I find great joy in working out. When I started playing U-19 cricket, I started gym. When I played U-16 cricket, I had no idea about the gym and only knew running. So when I played U-19s and senior cricket, I got a fair idea about the gym and why staying fit and strengthening the muscles is key," he added.

Interestingly, Rinku Singh’s 2025 season hasn’t been that great. In 12 games, he has scored only 197 runs with a 32.83 average. Moreover, KKR, the defending champions, are placed 6th in the points table.
