The crucial Super 8 game between India and Australia is underway at the Daren Sammy Stadium in Saint Lucia. The Men in Yellow won the toss and asked India to bat first.

India got off to a disastrous start as Virat Kohli, who loves playing against Australia, got out after a five-ball duck. On the 4th ball of the 2nd over, Virat tried to pull Jos Hazlewood but mistimed the shot and did not get the distance that he wanted. In the end, Tim David took a great catch running backwards.

The former India skipper is having a tournament to forget as he has amassed just 66 runs in 6 inns with an average of just 11. Further, it was the 2nd time in this edition that Virat got out for a duck. Earlier, he failed to open his account against the USA when he fell prey to Indian-origin Saurabh Netravalkar.

With the duck against Australia, Virat registered an embarrassing record as he became the second Indian after Ashish Nehra to score two ducks in a World Cup edition, which are the most by an Indian player in a World Cup edition.

Notably, Nehra also registered two ducks in the 2010 T20 World Cup. Nonetheless, Rohit Sharma stepped in and took India out of trouble as he scored a 19-ball fifty, the fastest in this World Cup.
