On Monday, June 24, the BCCI released the 15-member list for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe starting July 6. Since the series starts shortly after the T20 World Cup 2024, the selectors went ahead with young faces. 

Shubman Gill was named as the captain, while several other IPL 2024 stars such as Nitish Kumar Reddy, Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma earned their maiden India call-up. However, several other players like Varun Chakravarthy, who was phenomenal for KKR, was ignored by the selectors. 

Talking about Chakravarthy, he was the leading wicket-taker for KKR this season with 21 wickets. Varun's performance also helped KKR win their 3rd IPL title. Despite this, he failed to get a place in the team.

In the latest events, Varun took to Instagram Stories to express his disappointment and it seems that he launched an indirect attack on newly made 'captain' Shubman Gill in his story. 

' I Wish I had a paid PR agency!!!,' wrote the KKR spinner. 



Notably, Varun made his debut for India in 2021 and was also a part of the 2021 T20 World Cup. However, that edition turned out to be a disaster for him, and India's last group-stage game against Scotland turned out to be his last for the country.
