Punjab Kings' (PBKS) star batter, Nehal Wadhera has done well in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with his exploits while batting in the middle order. In a recent conversation, Wadhera, the left-handed batter, revealed an interesting conversation with Indian legend and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) superstar Virat Kohli.

Wadhera Left Shocked by Virat Kohli's Sweet Gesture

In a recent interaction, PBKS star Nehal Wadhera, who has displayed his exploits, spoke about his interaction with RCB superstar Virat Kohli. The Indian and RCB legend has been in prime form this season with the bat, scoring heavily for his franchise.

Wadhera, in a recent conversation, revealed that he was shocked by Kohli's recent gesture as the star batter remembered him.

Talking about Kohli, Wadhera explained that it was after the game between RCB and PBKS, when Kohli was in conversation with Shreyas Iyer, that the Indian superstar asked Wadhera in Punjabi how he was doing. This left the left-handed batter shell-shocked, as he was not expecting him to remember his name.

"I was actually really shocked when before the match Virat bhai was standing out and talking to Shreyas Iyer, and asked in Punjabi 'ki haal chaal, Nehal' (how are you doing Nehal?). I wasn’t really expecting that he would remember my name. That made me really happy,"

Moreover, he further disclosed that it was his conversations with either Tilak Varma or Suryakumar Yadav where he mentioned to them that he wanted to have a conversation with Virat Kohli once.

"Till last year, I used to tell a player - either it was Tilak (Varma) or Surya bhai (Suryakumar Yadav) -- that I wanted to talk to Virat bhai once. That was the actual ice-breaker where I got to know that yes, Virat bhai knows my name, and I could actually go up to him and have a conversation. As soon as the match finished, I went up to him and asked, 'Virat bhai, you have seen me for the last two years and this year -- what do you think?'"

However, after he got to know that Kohli knew him, he went on and had a proper chat with Kohli about his game and how he thinks he has been doing in cricket in recent years. He further added that he felt wonderful talking to him, and the words which came out of Kohli's mouth gave him next-level satisfaction.

"It was really good talking to him and I enjoyed it a lot. His words reinforced my belief and helped me understand how to approach the game better."
