Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the first youth ODI, as it panned out at the County Ground in Hove on Friday, June 27.

Kanishk Chouhan Skittle ENG Despite Flintoff’s 56

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, England Under-19 folded up for just 174 in 42.2 overs. Opening batter Isaac Mohammed cracked 42 from just 28 balls with three fours and four huge sixes at the top of the order before falling to India’s Mohamed Enaan. Rocky Flintoff at number four top-scored for the hosts with 56 runs off 90 deliveries to mark the lone half-century of the innings.

For India Under-19, Henil Patel, RS Ambrish and Mohamed Enaan picked up two wickets each, while right-arm spinner Kanishk Chouhan unfurled the spell of the day with tight figures of 3-20.

Suryavanshi And Kundu Bludgeon Quick 40s In Easy Chase

Chasing 175 for a win, India Under-19 openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi raced to 71-0 for the first wicket in just seven overs. Suryavanshi himself bludgeoned 48 of those runs from just 19 deliveries with three fours and five sixes before getting toppled by Ralphie Albert.

AM French subsequently struck further for England with the quick wickets of Mhatre and Maulyarajsinh Chavda as India slipped from 71-0 to 99-3 in 12.1 overs. Vihaan Malhotra failed to get going, before Abhigyan Kundu (45* off 34) and Rahul Kumar (17* off 25) crafted an unbroken 55-run partnership to take India Under-19 home with six wickets and 26 overs to spare.
