Australia beat England in the third Test at Adelaide to retain the Ashes trophy with an unassailable 3-0 lead. They continue their unbeaten run in this WTC style and have topped the standings.

England’s struggles Down Under hit a new low as they lost three back-to-back Tests and faced humiliating defeat in yet another Ashes series in Australia.

Australia consolidate top spot in WTC standings

On Day 5 of the Adelaide Test, Australia bowled out England for 352 runs in a 435-run chase to seal an 82-run victory and also secured the Ashes with a 3-0 lead.

With this victory, Australia now sit comfortably in first place of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table, having won all six of their matches so far. They have a perfect points percentage of 100.

South Africa are placed second after winning three of their four Tests. Despite one loss, their 75 percent points tally keeps them firmly in the race.

Sri Lanka and New Zealand follow next, both unbeaten so far. Each team has one win and one draw, giving them an identical points percentage of 66.67, though they have played fewer matches.

Pakistan are currently fifth. With one win and one loss from two matches, they sit at an even 50 percent.

India, despite playing the most Tests so far, are placed sixth. Four wins, four losses, and one draw have left them with a points percentage of just over 48, showing how inconsistency can hurt in the WTC format.

England’s situation looks worrying. After their defeat in Adelaide, they remain seventh with only two wins from eight matches.

Multiple losses have dropped their points percentage to just over 27, putting pressure on their remaining fixtures against Australia and New Zealand.

Bangladesh and the West Indies are struggling at the bottom. Bangladesh have yet to win a match, while the West Indies remain winless after seven Tests, leaving them last with under five percent points.
