History's oldest sporting rivalry, the Ashes, is a Test series played between England and Australia. Ever since its inception in 1882–83, the 5-match Test series has been one to watch. Held almost every 2 years, the history of the Ashes and the story behind it make it even fiercer.

There have been 73 Ashes series by 2025. Australia have won 34 and retained six times from draws (40); England have won 32 and retained once (33).

The Ashes, where the smallest 'Urn' decides who stands the tallest.  That being said, let's take a look at the Ashes winners over the years.
