In a historic match, UAE beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the 3rd T20I to win their first bilateral series against the Tigers. In the first inning, Bangladesh somehow managed to put 162 runs on the board despite losing 7 wickets for 71 runs. However, Alishan Sharafu and Asif Khan knitted an 87-run partnership in the second inning to steer UAE to a historic series victory.

UAE Shatter Bangladesh’s Top Order

In the series decider, Bangladesh batted first but lost wickets in a cluster. Haider Ali rolled his golden arm to completely destroy the visitor’s middle order. He dismissed Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy, and Mahedi Hasan to reduce the Tigers to 57/5. 

However, Tanzid Hasan kept Bangladesh in the game with a quick 40 off 18 balls. However, despite his resistance, UAE bowlers kept tightening the screws. Matiullah Khan dismissed the lower middle order to leave Bangladesh reeling at 84/8. 

Jaker Ali Steers Bangladesh To A Respectable Total

Despite their backs against the wall, Jaker Ali stepped up to save Bangladesh’s sinking ship. He slammed fighting 41 off 34 balls. Hasan Mahmud also hit 26 off 15 balls. Owing to this late resistance, Bangladesh managed to get a respectable total of 162 runs on the board.

Alishan Sharafu Leads The Charge For Emirates

The game was wide open despite Bangladesh’s fine finish in the first inning. Shoriful Islam got the first breakthrough for the visitors by dismissing dangerman Muhammad Waseem. However, Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Zuhaib knitted a 44-run partnership for the second wicket. Alishan hit a sublime half-century and kept UAE in the hunt.

Emirates Topple Bangladesh To Win A Historic Series

From 110/3, Alishan and Asif Khan hit 3 sixes against Rishad Hossain in the 16th over to accumulate 19 runs. The equation for the UAE was reduced to 34 runs needed off 24 balls. Asif invoked his inner beast to smash 5 towering sixes in his inspiring 41* off 26 balls knock. 

Alishan, meanwhile, played a match-winning knock of 68* off 47 balls as the duo chased down the total with 5 balls to spare and helped UAE win the game by 7 wickets. With that, the UAE registered their first-ever bilateral series win over Bangladesh as they sealed the 3-game series with a 2-1 lead.
