Rajasthan Royals' pacer Tushar Deshpande has reached a significant milestone by completing 50 wickets in the IPL. This achievement came after he dismissed Prabhsimran Singh in the RR vs PBKS match.

The IPL 2025 resumed on May 17 after a week-long suspension induced by the India-Pakistan border conflict. However, the RCB vs KKR match got washed out. 

Regardless, on May 18, fans were treated to a doubleheader. In the afternoon game, RR hosted PBKS in the 59th match and bowled first.

Deshpande had an early breakthrough as he dismissed Priyansh Arya in the second over. He extended his momentum to get another big fish and also scale a personal record in the process.

Tushar Deshpande Completes 50 Wickets In IPL

In the 4th over of the first powerplay, Tushar Deshpande bowled a sharp delivery down the leg side. He induced a faint edge off Prabhsimran's bat as he attempted a flick. 

The ball was neatly collected by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson behind the stumps, resulting in the second wicket of the day for Deshpande. Not only that, with that dismissal, Tushar Deshpande now has 50 wickets to his name in his brief IPL career.

Since his debut in 2020, the pacer has played for multiple franchises, including Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals. Though RR are no longer alive in the playoff race, the pride is something they can take home by the end of the league stages. 

Meanwhile, RR bowlers restricted PBKS’ powerplay to 58 runs and grabbed 3 big wickets of Prabhsimran, Priyansh, and Mitchell Owen.
