Northern Superchargers Women have always looked a challenging bunch on paper but their ability to seal big games stop them from qualifying for the knockouts always. They came close to finishing top three last season but fell short due to NRR equations.

In this brand new season, the Superchargers will be looking to punch above their waist and go one step further to be one of the teams to play the knockout stage.

The Headingley based franchise has been hit by unavailability of a couple of their big foreign recruitments, including Australia’s Alyssa Healy due to injury. Indian international Jemimah Rodrigues is one of the replacements alongside 20-year-old Aussie opener Phoebe Litchfield.

On the other side, Birmingham Phoenix is nothing but a similar team like the Superchargers who finished with six points and missed to make it to the knockouts due to NRR last season.

They had an impressive first season back in 2021 as they finished third after falling short in the Eliminator. They will be looking to bounce back in the 2023 edition and climb up the ladder to lift the title.

Unfortunately, they will be without the services of skipper Ellysa Perry to a knee injury. Eve Jones will lead the Phoenix in absence of the Australian veteran and will be aiming to take her side to the possible maiden Hundred title.
